Life in the Thousand Islands

I've been living here in Brockville, Ontario for over 8 years now. Summertime has to be the most beautiful time of year on the St. Lawrence River. Take a look at this link...scroll down to near the bottom of the page and view "The Best of Ian Coristine's 1000 Islands" video (which is one of my favorite photographers). The music is by "Great Lake Swimmers".
After viewing the video, you will understand why I decided to stay in one of the most beautiful areas in Canada.

Canada eh!

July 1st, here in Canada, we celebrated our country's 143rd birthday. It was such a glorious occasion that the Queen herself, came across the big lake, and even dragged Prince Philip along for the celebration! However, back at the cottage on Bobs Lake, we celebrated Canada Day with Neil's Mom and Dad and of course, Dakoda. As you can tell, Dakoda certainly wasn't to be left behind (Lord help you if you did!!) when we went out for a boat tour of the Lake. The one thing that I did notice was everyone was showing their true patriot love for this country and had attached the Canadian flag to their dock, boat, railing etc. It made you think very quickly that we truly do live in one of the most beautiful countries in the world! Of course, Canada Day wouldn't be the same without a good old-fashion barbeque. On the grill...Canadian Beef, Canadian Pork and Canadian Lamb. The corn on the cob however came from the USA but that's alright by me and our guests!! Happy Canada Day!
