It's Prom Time!

It's June and you know what that means...Prom! Yes sirree! This time it was Tyler and Jess's turn! Honest to goodness, I had butterflies and it wasn't even my prom. Tyler asked me to give him the "once over" to make sure that his tie wasn't crooked or that his shirt was wrinkle free! He cleans up real good!! Neil and I were so proud of him!! But then there is Jess. She was soooo nervous! (I share her pain!!) But she looked absolutely stunning! What a gosh darn cute couple they make! Honest to goodness the pictures that were taken, one would think that we were on our way to a wedding. Gulp!! No, no, no! First things to University, then get a job and then think about it!!
Tyler and Jess are heading off in the Fall to Carleton University in Ottawa. Congratulations!

It's Raining Cats & Dogs!

It's early on a Saturday morning and it's also pouring rain! It's a perfect kind of day spent in the studio doing some sewing! Can't work in the garden today. Too wet!
Can't get any painting done. Too wet!! Cycling? Nope. Too wet! Well, I better make use of this day somehow. Seeewww, I'm going to start the morning right with a cup of java, read the paper (cause I like to know what has gone on in the world since yesterdays paper) and then I'm going to saunter up to the studio, fondle my fabrics (they have been neglected for quite a while now) and start a new project! Yep, that's right. I'm going to break the "have to finish one project before starting the next one" kind of rule that I seem to think that I must follow to the letter. Seeewww, what are your plans for today?

Timing is Everything!

You know when you are driving along and you come across something that you would least expect to see? On my recent visit home, I was heading back into Harriston from the family farm and came across a baseball game taking place. You see, the majority of farms surrounding our family farm is owned by Mennonites. Well it was Victoria Day weekend and what other way of spending the afternoon than a "good old fashioned baseball game & picnic" at their local church/school. I think that there were more women playing then men but it was a site to be seen.

And Yet Another Exchange

Where have I been for the past couple of weeks? It's been busy here...gardening, landscaping, building and a quick trip home to see my Mom, I miss her so. With all the "hustle and bustle" I was still able to put together this little quiltie for an exchange. The top pics are what I did and it was mailed off across "the big lake" to the UK (once again, it's a secret swap and I don't want to spoil the surprise). I can't resist a little "thread painting/playing" on anything!! The bottom pic is what I received in the mail all the way from Australia! (Did you see the movie "Australia" with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman? Do you recall the scene involving the "bucket of water" and Hugh himself? I know. I know. It's just a movie and has absolutely nothing to do with this swap but I just can't help it! It was a memorable scene!!) Okay back to the exchange...Thanks Mary! I absolutely love it!! It's sweet as can be.
